Description

Objectives:

  1. Discuss the results of a survey of Latin American ICU patients to assess nutritional status based on Subjective Global Assessment (SGA).
  2. Identify maximal energy deficit to prevent the occurrence of underfeeding-related complications while determining the best feeding approach.
  3. Summarize the role of the gut microbiota and the effects of manipulating the gut microbiota in critically ill patients.
