Stavra Xanthakos, MD, MS, is a Professor of Pediatrics within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio. She is Director of the Steatohepatitis Center and the Medical Director of the Surgical Weight Loss Program for Teens. Her clinical practice and research have focused on determining the epidemiology and outcomes of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in children and adolescents and identifying more effective screening, prevention, and treatment options. She is a co-investigator in NIH-funded multicenter networks investigating fatty liver disease in children and outcomes of bariatric surgery in adolescents.
