Steven Plogsted PharmD, BCNSP, FASPEN

Steve received both his BS and Pharrm D from the University of Cincinnati. He began his career as a retail pharmacist then transitioned into hospital pharmacy service where he specialized in pediatrics. After completing his PharmD degree he started his clinical practice with an emphasis on nutrition support. He worked in the specialty of nutrition support from 1992 until his retirement from Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio in 2019. He has been a member of ASPEN since 1992 and has served on numerous committees, as well as serving as Chair of the Pediatric Section, and Chair of the Drug Shortage Subcommittee. He served as one of the co-editors for ASPENS’s Pediatric Nutrition Support Core Curriculum and ASPEN’s Parenteral Nutrition Handbook. Steve has published a number of articles related to nutrition as well as on the subjects of celiac disease and the ketogenic diet. He was named as a Fellow of ASPEN and has received the ASPEN’s Distinguished Nutrition Support Pharmacist Service Award.
