Kelly O'Donnell MS, RD, CNSC

I have been a registered dietitian since 1992 and a nutrition support dietitian at the University of Virginia Health System since 2001 specializing in enteral and parenteral nutrition for surgery, trauma and burn patients. My area of interest also includes micronutrient deficiencies after gastric bypass surgery which has allowed me the opportunity to serve as an expert witness. In addition to being the team lead for the nutrition support surgery service, my role includes educating dietetic interns and surgery residents in the area of surgery nutrition support. I have been honored to be awarded the Outstanding Preceptor of the Year from 7 different dietetic internship classes during my career at UVA. I have been a guest editor for Support Line and have participated in various roles in several organizations including Membership Coordinator for Dietitians in Nutrition Support (DNS) and president of the Virginia Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (VASPEN).
