Dr. Teresa Isichei Pounds is the Founder/ President of West African Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (WASPEN) a nonprofit organization focused on increasing the awareness of malnutrition in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. Currently working as a Consultant in Metabolic Support, Medication Therapy Management, and Clinical Pharmacy Practice & Residency Program Development. Georgia, USA. Dr. Pounds began her career by receiving a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy and her PharmD from Mercer University; she then completed her post-doctoral residency at Georgia Baptist Hospital, which later became WAMC. Her success has led to her appointment at South University as a Clinical Assistant Dean for Clinical Pharmacy Education. While she has served in different capacities in both the pharmacy and medical arena in nutrition support, medication therapy management advocacy, global medical missions, and clinical pharmacy practice. Dr. Pounds is dedicated to developing clinical pharmacy training programs both locally and internationally, she is the current president of the Nigerian Pharmacist and Pharmaceutical Scientist Association (NAPPSA). Dr. Pounds has published and presented at national conferences on clinical pharmacy, nutrition-related topics and is an expert on various topics in nutrition support and infectious diseases.
