Denise Baird Schwartz, MS, RD, FADA, FAND, FASPEN is a community member of the Bioethics Committee at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Burbank, California, with over 40 years of clinical experience and previously was the Nutrition Support Coordinator at PSJMC. She is a speaker recognized both nationally and internationally on topics including critically ill and clinical ethics with 120 presentations (including 10 international presentations) and nearly 60 publications. • Fellow of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. • Author, speaker, chair and committee positions, and past member of the ASPEN Board of Directors and National Board of Nutrition Support Certification. • Chaired the first Dietitian Certification Committee that created the CNSD credential, later changed to CNSC. • First chair of the ASPEN International Clinical Ethics Section. • Lead author of the Ethical Aspects of Artificially Administered Nutrition and Hydration: An ASPEN Position Paper, published in NCP 2021. • Survey Coordinator of Validation Survey of Nutrition Support Clinicians on Moral, Cultural, and Spiritual Practice Competencies When Involved with Artificially Administered Nutrition and Hydration 2022-2023.
