Patricia Brown RD-AP, CNSC, LDN

Trish is an Advanced Practice RD working in the field of Nutrition Support for over 20 years. She has been at the Johns Hopkins Hospital for the last 14 years managing the Nutrition Support for Critically Ill patients including Heart and Lung Transplant, ECMO, GI surgery, and Home Parenteral Nutrition patients. Trish has experience with using Indirect Calorimetry and is adding to the research with additional validation of the alternative equation using VC02 to assess REE. Trish has co-authored eight peer reviewed publications in addition to six abstracts.

She is presently involved with the development of an equation to assess Energy Expenditure from pre and post oxygenator blood gases for patients on ECMO. In her current role she is managing the ELSO and INDEX databases for the Johns Hopkins Adult ECMO program for the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
