Bethany Sarosiek RN, MSN, MPH, CNL

Bethany was hired as UVA’s first Clinical Nurse Leader in 2014 to lead the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program. Over the past 7 years, Bethany and her team have worked to expand the hospital's ERAS program from colorectal surgery to 13 additional surgical services. Under her guidance, the program has continued to demonstrate improved perioperative outcomes and patient satisfaction along with reductions in opioid use and patient lengths of stay, ultimately resulting in significant cost savings for UVA Health. Her primary focus is forging multidisciplinary partnerships to integrate evidence-based practices into daily processes. She holds Masters Degrees in Public Health and Nursing along with Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) certification.
