Matthew Stotts MD, MPH, MSc

Dr. Stotts is a liver specialist who is board certified in Transplant Hepatology, Gastroenterology and General Hepatology, and Internal Medicine. He completed medical school in 2010 and practiced gastroenterology and hepatology in Denver, Saint Louis, and Northern Colorado before pursuing further training at the University of Pennsylvania in Transplant Hepatology. He joined the faculty of the University of Virginia in 2019. Dr. Stotts has a background in Nutrition (receiving a graduate degree from Columbia University in New York) and has served as an editor and peer reviewer of several medical journals. His specific interests include caring for patients with a wide range of liver disorders, including viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, Wilson’s disease, hemochromatosis, alcohol-related liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, PSC and PBC, and cirrhosis.
