Gregory Shelness PhD

After receiving his Ph.D. at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Dr. Greg Shelness completed post-doctoral training at The Rockefeller University in New York City. In 1989 he joined the Faculty of Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC, where he established a research program focused on sterol, lipid and lipoprotein trafficking and metabolism and roles in cardiometabolic disease. Dr. Shelness has considerable experience in peer review, including service as a member of the NIH Cellular Aspects of Diabetes and Obesity Study Section. Dr. Shelness left Wake Forest in 2014 to join CSR where he serves as the Scientific Review Officer of the Nutrition and Metabolism in Health and Disease study section.
