Nicole VanKim is an assistant professor of epidemiology at University of Massachusetts Amherst. She completed her PhD in epidemiology at University of Minnesota and a postdoc in LGBT health at San Diego State University. Her primary research focuses on population-level inequities in weight-related health, including type 2 diabetes, obesity, physical activity, and diet, across sexual orientation and gender. She has a secondary line of research that focuses on the mental and sexual health of young gender-diverse sexual minorities.
