Abigail Martin MD, MA, FAAP

Dr. Martin is a board certified General Pediatric Surgeon who completed a fellowship in Transplantation at the Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She has always had a special interest in Intestinal Failure and all aspects of surgical nutrition in pediatric patients. She is currently self-employed but has previously been an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Kentucky in Lexington and at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. While at Nemours and Thomas Jeffereson University she established the Nemours Intestinal Failure Team (NIFTy), a multidisciplinary group of caregivers who provide comprehensive intestinal failure care for patients and their families from the neonatal intensive care unit through adolescence. At the University of Kentucky, she continued to focus on treating neonates and children with intestinal failure and other complex surgical intestinal diseases.
