Lecturer, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, University of Minnesota, St. Paul, MN

Aimee Tritt is a Lecturer at the University of Minnesota and a practicing dietitian at Hennepin Healthcare and Cedar Hill Therapy. As both an instructor and a clinician, Aimee offers her students a well-informed perspective on current issues in nutrition counseling and clinical practice. Her expertise in Motivational Interviewing, weight management, child and adolescent nutrition, and disordered eating have made her a valued member of the Food Science and Nutrition department's Dietetics Steering Committee, as well as a lead course developer for the new MPS program in Dietetics. Aimee received a Master's Degree in Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota, completed her dietetic internship at Hennepin Healthcare and The Emily Program, and previously practiced at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, MN. She is passionate about modernizing curriculum, incorporating technology in the classroom, and engaging students with real-life examples. In her clinical practice, she combines concepts of intuitive and mindful eating, food as nourishment for both physical and mental health, and body appreciation and respect to help her clients overcome a troubled relationship with food. When she isn't teaching or seeing clients, she can be found in the kitchen with her husband and two fluffy cats.
