Senior Clinical Data Manager, ERAS Site Director, Carolinas Center for Surgical Outcomes Science, Atrium Health, Charlotte, NC

Allyson is the Senior Clinical Data Manager for the Carolinas Center for Surgical Outcomes Science, a division within the Department of Surgery at Atrium Health, where she provides analytics, statistical, and research methodology expertise for surgical research and quality improvement initiatives. One such initiative – the development of novel models to predict adverse surgical outcomes – qualified the organization to become the first US-based Academic Center of Excellence by the International ERAS Society. A published author and presenter, she speaks nationally and internationally on the topics of surgical predictive analytics, data-driven surgery, and implementation of enhanced-recovery programs. She is currently serving her second two-year term as the Chair of the Quality Measurement and Improvement Committee for the USA Chapter of the ERAS Society and is a regular reviewer for several surgical and informatics journals. Previously, she was an epidemiologist for two county health departments where she specialized in GIS and public health analytics, while concurrently serving as a policy and best-practice advisor for the National Association of County and City Health Officials. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Health Services Research focusing on integrating predictive modeling in enhanced-recovery pathways to predict – and prevent – adverse surgical outcomes.
