Andrea Stroud, MD, MS
Dr. Andrea Stroud is Assistant Professor within the Division of Bariatric Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. She also serves as staff general surgeon at Adventist Medical Center Portland. Dr. Stroud received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in New York, NY. She completed residency in general surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. While a resident at Dartmouth, she spent two years as a Veterans Administration Quality Scholars Fellow and earned a Masters of Science in healthcare research from The Dartmouth Institute. Following her residency training, she completed a fellowship year in advanced minimally invasive gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. Dr. Stroud enjoys helping her patients reach their health goals and achieve a better quality of life through bariatric surgery. Her interests include quality initiatives to improve postoperative outcomes following bariatric surgery and she serves as the quality officer for the division of bariatric surgery as well as on the ASMBS Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Committee. Her research interests include adolescent bariatric surgery, obesity-related nutrition and metabolism, and the association of cancer with obesity.
