Astrid Verbiest MSc

Astrid Verbiest is a 28-year-old Belgian researcher and nutritionist with a deep interest in human biology and health. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and later earned her Master's Degree in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven. After completing her studies, Astrid began her career as a research associate at UZ Leuven at the department of endocrinology. Driven by her passion for research, Astrid is currently pursuing a PhD in the field of gastroenterology. Her research is focused on performing metabolic balance studies in patients with short bowel syndrome.
