Dr. Carla Prado is a Professor and Registered Dietitian at the University of Alberta, Canada. She directs the Human Nutrition Research Unit, a premier facility for body composition and energy metabolism research. Her research focuses on the impact of abnormal body composition in chronic diseases and developing targeted nutritional interventions to mitigate these impacts. Dr. Prado serves as an Associate Editor of top three Journals in her field. Dr. Prado is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and a member of the Royal Society of Canada College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists - two of the highest academic honors in her country. She has been recognized in the ‘Canada’s Top 40 under 40’ list, and named as one of the ‘Most Powerful Women in Canada: Top 100’. Dr. Prado has also been recognized by ClarivateTM as one of the top 1% of researchers in her field, highlighting the significant and broad influence of her team's work.
