Carol Rees Parrish, MS, RDN, a GI Nutrition Support Specialist, spent 32 years specializing in complex GI disorders and nutrition support at UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA. She founded the medicine nutrition support service, the home nutrition support program, GI nutrition support clinic, and celiac support group while there. She also co-founded the UVA Nutrition Support Traineeship, Weekend Warrior, and Webinar educational programs. As the nutrition series editor for Practical Gastroenterology for 20 years, she oversaw the publication of 228 articles. Carol’s passion for GI and nutrition support includes: SBS/malabsorptive disorders, high output ileostomies, enteral and parenteral feeding, SIBO, pancreatitis, gastroparesis, Wernicke’s Encephalopathy, and many others.
