Dr. Melo van Lent is postdoctoral nutrition epidemiologist at the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer's and Neurodegenerative diseases at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio Texas. She is a humble recipient of the C. Richard Fleming grant and the Daniel H. Teitelbaum grants granted by the ASPEN Rhoads Research foundation, and a NIH RO3 grant. Her research line focuses on the inflammatory effect of diet on neurodegenerative disease related outcomes. Today Dr. Melo van Lent will present her findings on the relationships between the Dietary Inflammatory Index and Brain MRI markers of Brain Aging and cerebral small vessel disease, which she investigated in the Framingham Heart Study.
