George is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Acute Care Surgery. He is the Trauma Program Medical Director and a Medical Director for JeffSTAT. He is also a Deputy Director of the Jefferson Center for Injury Research and Prevention. He has been on faculty at Jefferson since 2010. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, by the American Board of Emergency Medicine in Emergency Medical Services, and by United Council for Neurologic Subspecialities in Neurocritical Care. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed his fellowship in trauma and surgical critical care at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and his general surgery residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center. He received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from PCOM, his Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from PCOM, and his BA in Biology and Chemistry from Bucknell University. He is a member of and serves on several committees of various national and regional societies including the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation. He is a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and the Emergency Management Committee.
