Jacob T. Mey PhD, RD

Dr. Mey is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He received his bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH in 2012 and his PhD in Nutrition, Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Illinois, at Chicago along with dietetic credentials in 2017. Currently, he is a trainee on an NIH T32 grant on botanical approaches to combat metabolic syndrome, where he is investigating the role of whole-grain dietary intake and whole-grain botanical components on whole-body and skeletal muscle protein turnover. Dr. Mey's other research interests include understanding the role of ketogenesis in metabolic and respiratory health and clinical malnutrition.
