Juliana Tamayo is a Registered Dietitian (RD), MS, CNSC. She is originally from Colombia, South America. Her passion for nutrition support stems from her own experience as a nutrition support patient. Juliana is alive thanks to her feeding tube, and once relied on total parenteral nutrition (TPN) as well. She suffers from multiple autoimmune and chronic illnesses, including Crohn’s disease, lupus, chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIPO), gastroparesis, all of which affect the way she digests and absorbs nutrients. Without her feeding tube, Juliana wouldn’t be able to do what she loves. This is why she is passionate about helping others with similar illnesses through her work. When not working at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Juliana loves to play golf, travel, read, and dance.
