K Sreekumaran Nair MD, PhD

K. Sreekumaran Nair, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine and Consultant Endocrinologist in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN. He is recognized as a Distinguished Investigator at Mayo Clinic with the distinction of a named professorship, the Dr. Richard F. Emslander Professorship in Endocrinology and Nutrition Research. He received Outstanding Mentor and Achievement (lifetime) in medical research from Mayo Clinic. He was elected to the American Society of Clinical Investigation and Association of American Physicians. He also is a fellow of Royal College of Physicians (London) and Fellow of American College of Physicians. Among many national and international awards that he has received includes E.V McCollum distinguished investigator award from American Society of Nutrition, Sir David Cuthbertson Medal and lectureship and Honorary Membership of the European Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism and Honorary Doctorate and Adjunct Professorship by the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, Takeda Lectureship from Japanese Geriatric Society. He served as the Editor-in-chief of Diabetes from 2011-2016. Dr. Nair has been continuously funded by the NIH for more than three decades. He has published total 341 papers with 20,000 citations and hi-index of 78.
