Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the prevalence of alcohol and drug abuse has increased. Malnutrition in individuals with substance abuse disorders is not uncommon and can be challenging to treat. This webinar will focus on helping clinicians recognize the important nutrition issues facing those experiencing addiction including malnutrition and vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Additionally, recommendations for nutrition interventions in these individuals both in a treatment center and in the home will be provided.

Learning Objectives

Demonstrate proper nutrition treatment for alcohol withdrawal and addiction.
Identify vitamin and mineral deficiencies and determine the best ways to replete those that are deficient.
Describe nutrition recommendations within a treatment environment, including both a treatment center and home environment.
