Karen Martin, MA,RDN,LD,FAND,FASPEN, is entering her 39th year as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with 17 years in home infusion and was recently promoted within Amerita Specialty Infusion to the role of Nutrition Support Manager. Karen is a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and part of ASPEN's 2023 class of Fellows. Karen has conducted research and presented at state, national and international ALS, CF and ASPEN meetings and authored text book chapters and peer reviewed articles. Karen enjoys academia and has served as faculty or adjunct professor for the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, the University of the Incarnate Word and St. Mary’s University. Karen chartered ASPEN’s Texas Alamo Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. She coauthored ASPEN’s Safe Practices for Enteral Nutrition Therapy and authored the Home Enteral Nutrition chapter of ASPEN’s Enteral Nutrition Handbook. Karen was awarded the Gisela Barnadas Memorial Home Care Award in recognition of excellence in nutrition support to home care patients. Karen is the current chair of ASPEN’s Home and Alternate Site Section.
