Linda Lord is a Nurse Practitioner and has practiced in enteral nutrition (EN) and parenteral nutrition (PN) support for over 40 years at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) in Rochester, New York. She has inpatient/outpatient and research experience, most recently for 30 years in the nutrition support clinic following adult individuals receiving home EN and PN, including some undergoing teduglutide (Gattex) therapy. She performs nutrition support assessments, orders PN and EN formulas with associated supplies and replaces nasal, gastrostomy and jejunostomy feeding tubes. In her nutrition support practice career she has over 50 publications, given numerous lectures/webinars all over the country and Canada, continuously reviews articles in peer reviewed journals and contributes to the development of standards of practice. The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) awarded her the Distinguished Nutrition Support Nurse Service Award in 2015 and the Nursing Discipline Research Award in 1992. She completed her 2 year term earlier this year as Chair for the ASPEN Nurses Section and has served on many ASPEN committees and other national committees related to nutrition support practice. Starting September 2024 she took on a new role as Nutrition Support Educator at URMC where she will be educating and working collaboratively with those caring for inpatient and outpatient individuals requiring EN and PN support at the medical center and surrounding community.
