M. Petrea Cober, PharmD, BCNSP, BCPPS, FASPEN, attended the University of Tennessee, College of Pharmacy in Memphis, Tennessee. She completed her post-graduate training in pharmacy at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and in pediatric pharmacy at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In clinical practice, she was a pediatric pharmacist, first at the University of Michigan with pediatric surgery and second at Akron Children’s Hospital with the neonatal intensive care unit. She is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Northeast Ohio Medical University and teaches in the areas of pediatric/neonatal pharmacotherapy, women’s health, nutrition support, and pharmaceutical calculations. She was awarded the 2021 Stanley Serlick Award recognizing her contributions to parenteral nutrition safety and the 2024 Distinguished Nutrition Support Pharmacy Service Award for her contributions to ASPEN and nutrition support. She serves as the current Chair-elect of the ASPEN Parenteral Nutrition Committee.
