Dr. Mark Corkins is the Division Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Le Bonheur Children’s in Memphis, TN. He is the St. Jude Endowed Chair of Excellence in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Dr. Corkins is a Pediatric Gastroenterologist with a focus on nutrition and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and an honorary member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Dr. Corkins has served on the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Board of Directors and completed two terms on the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Nutrition. In 2007, he was ASPEN’s Nutrition Support Physician of the year and was the 2018 Excellence in Nutrition Support Education Award winner. He has been head-editor of several nutrition textbooks, author of numerous journal articles and a member of the task force that created the new definition for pediatric malnutrition. As of July 2021, he is the chair of the AAP’s Committee on Nutrition.
