Prof. Hon. Mette M Berger is an Intensive care physician from the Lausanne University Hospital and specialized in burn care and clinical nutrition. She received her M.D. degree from Lausanne School of Medicine (Switzerland), and her medical PhD from the University of UmeƄ (Sweden). She is trained in Anesthesiology, intensive care (Lausanne University), and nutrition (Nancy University France) and acquired an MBA in health economics. Prof. Berger is an Honorary member of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM and SSNC) and has held positions as president and treasurer of the Swiss Society of Clinical Nutrition (SSNC). She is a member of the ESPEN-ICU guidelines and chairs the Micronutrient guideline and special interest group. She directed the publication of the first clinical nutrition micronutrient guideline (practical version in 2024). She has authored over 310 peer-reviewed publications on nutritional therapy in critical illness, burn and trauma care, and micronutrients. H-index 65
