Moriah P. Bellissimo PhD, RD

Moriah Bellissimo is a registered dietitian with a Master's degree in Health Sciences and a PhD in Nutrition and Health Sciences. Her research focuses on mechanisms that alter body composition, including dietary intake, physical activity, and macronutrient metabolism, which strongly affect health and physical functioning. She employs state-of-the-art platforms such as high-resolution metabolomics, extracellular flux analysis, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy to study human metabolism, health, and mitigation of chronic disease through both diet and exercise. She is currently a T32 postdoctoral fellow at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where her research focuses on evaluating the impact of physical activity, nutrition, and body metabolism on cardiovascular function in survivors of breast cancer.
