Neha is a Registered Dietitian and has been specializing in gastroenterlogy for 16 years. She was previously at Stanford Health Care, where she initially started her career counseling patients recovering from gastrointestinal surgery and then later, came into the Digestive Health Center there to inaugurate and build Nutrition Services. With a physician, she also co-led the development of the outpatient Nutrition Support and Intestinal Rehabilitation programs. Neha is now at UCSF, specializing in inflammatory bowel disease and intestinal failure and owns a private practice, Neha Shah Nutrition, to bring specialized GI nutrition care to the community. In addition to patient care, Neha provides her expertise to research studies, presents didactic lectures to interdisciplinary providers, and has authored over 20 articles related to GI nutrition, with a focus on inflammatory bowel disease. She is involved in several initiatives with professional organizations, including is the co-founder and Secretary of the international South Asian IBD Alliance, the co-chair of the Publication Committee through the alliance between the American Gastroenterological Association and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and is a member of the Crohn's and Colitis Medical Advisory Committee of Northern California. Her purpose to contribute is to move nutrition care forward.
