Nurhayat Tugra Ozer

My name is Nurhayat Tugra Ozer. I'm twenty-five years old and junior researcher. I'm a dietitian and in pursuit of a doctoral degree in Clinical Nutrition from Health Sciences Institute at Erciyes University, Turkey with a focus on clinical nutrition in critical illness. We performed many clinical studies about micronutrient especially thiamine, malnutrition and sarcopenia. Our study samples cover different patient groups: with a focus on critically ill patients, hospitalized patients and outpatients. In my doctoral thesis, I am interested in thiamine and inflammation in ICU patients. I would like to share a few of our clinical studies. We performed a long-term (hospitalization and 2 months after discharge) study to evaluate ten tight junction proteins in 30 ICU patients. This study was also accepted as a poster in the ESICM Congress 2020 in Madrid. Also, we performed a study derived definition of sarcopenia undergoing dialysis patients and compared to EWGSOP 2 criteria. And we won the best oral presentation in 3.International and 14.Academic Geriatric Congress, Turkey, 2021. I will graduate from doctorate program in June 2022. I would like to get postdoctoral education focused on clinical nutrition especially micronutrient or exosomes.
