Dr. Elfadil, an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Research Associate at Mayo Clinic, graduated magna cum laude from Gezira Medical School in Sudan and received Internal Medicine training at the Forces Medical Services of the Royal Army of Oman. In 2019, he joined the Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition Program at Mayo Clinic as a research fellow in Dr. Manpreet Mundi’s laboratory. Since then, he has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented his work at national and international scientific conferences. Dr. Elfadil was a finalist for the prestigious Harry M. Vars Award from ASPEN in both 2022 and 2024, and he has received multiple research abstract awards for his presentations at ASPEN meetings. His research focuses on fish oil, the gut microbiome, peptide-based formulations, and advancing equity in nutrition care.
