Samuel Kocoshis MD

Samuel Kocoshis, MD, specializes in intestinal rehabilitation at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Kocoshis directs the Small Intestinal Transplantation Program and for years directed the intestinal rehabilitation service. He is professor of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, focusing upon intestinal adaptation following intestinal resection and the study of biomarkers for acute cellular rejection following intestinal transplantation. Prior to joining Cincinnati Children's, he led Pediatric Gastroenterology and the Intestinal Care Center at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He earned his BA from DePauw University and his MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed a residency in Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh; and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Yale University School Medicine. He has been a member of numerous national committees and advisory boards and has authored over 180 peer-reviewed articles, review articles and textbook chapters.
