After her Medical Degree in 1994, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine in Belo Horizonte and a fellowship in Nutrology at the University of São Paulo, where she also achieved her Master of Science in Medical Sciences. She received her specialist certification in Nutrology by the Brazilian Association of Nutrology and in Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition by the Brazilian Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. She is a tenured Professor of the Brazilian Association of Nutrology, teaching in the Courses about Nutrology, Oncology and Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition. She completed the Harvard Medical School Postgraduate Medical Education, Global Clinical Scholars Research Training Program in 2019. She is Coordinator of the Multidisciplinary Nutrition Therapy Team at the Hospital Felício Rocho, in Belo Horizonte, where she is an Instructor of the Fellowship Program. Dr Silvestre is a member of the Physician Engagement Committee - ASPEN and an Associate Editor in JPEN.
