Dr. Susan Gutierrez is a pediatric gastroenterologist and clinical researcher dedicated to improving outcomes for children with intestinal failure. She is currently a T-32 Research Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco and will join the UCSF faculty as Assistant Professor this summer. Her research is positioned at the intersection of social determinants of health, health disparities, and intestinal failure. Her prior work has focused on leveraging national databases to examine how socioeconomic factors shape healthcare utilization and long-term health trajectories. With a particular interest in caregiver burden and the role of social risks in clinical outcomes, she is committed to developing socially informed interventions that improve care delivery and equity in pediatric intestinal failure.
