Theresa Carmichael earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Foods & Nutrition from San Diego State University. Shortly after graduation she was accepted to a dietetic internship through the University of Nevada Las Vegas with an emphasis in Clinical Nutrition. Ms. Carmichael has been working with adolescents & adults with mental health issues in all levels of care (inpatient, residential programs, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs) since 2014. She has found a passion working with clients of all ages struggling with mental health, disordered eating, substance use and more. She now owns and runs the Carmichael Clinic day-to-day and employs Registered Dietitians to help increase access to care in her community. Ms. Carmichael is also thrilled to continue her future with Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, helping clients address a variety of issues with food. Theresa sits as an Executive Board Member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Behavioral Health Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group as well as an Advisory Board Member for San Diego State University’s Didactic Program in Dietetics. Outside of clinical work, she enjoys professional speaking and training other healthcare providers on the treatment of disordered eating.
