Dr. Victoria Gershuni is a surgeon-scientist at the University of Pennsylvania. As a fellowship trained Minimally Invasive Surgeon, her primary clinical focus includes both benign foregut surgery and bariatric/metabolic surgery for the treatment of obesity. Her research program focuses on multiple aspects of nutrition, including the interaction between diet and the microbiome, the role of sub-optimal nutrition on surgical outcomes, and developing machine learning-based techniques for measuring body composition to help identify patients with sarcopenic obesity.
