Frequently Asked Questions for ASPEN23

Below are answers to frequently asked questions about the conference. If you have additional questions, please contact us at aspen@nutritioncare.org or (301) 587-6315 during our conference hours.


Event Platform, nutritioncare.org/A23

Nutritioncare.org/A23 is the event platform where virtual attendees can create their itinerary set to their preferred time zone, attend sessions, download handouts, get the most up-to-date information, and connect with other attendees. See tips for navigating around nutritioncare.org/A23.

Is there a mobile event app for in-person attendees?
Yes. In-person attendees can download the ASPEN23 app from Google Play or App Store. The app can be used for up-to-the minute conference notifications, schedule creation, and to connect with other attendees. In-person attendees can also download handouts from nutritioncare.org/A23.


Sessions

Where can I see and access all sessions?

  • Virtual: Navigate to Sessions and Schedule and click the “Attend Session” button.
  • In-person: Navigate to Program and Sessions in the ASPEN23 app to confirm the session room location and time.

Can I access content after the conference?

  • Recordings of most conference sessions will be available within a few weeks of the conference in the ASPEN eLearning center.


Handouts

  • If there are handouts for a session and the speaker has given us permission to post, you will find them at Handouts.
  • Please note that handouts are only available in the virtual event platform. From the conference app, select the Handouts menu item and you will be directed to the virtual event platform. All conference participants have access to the virtual event platform.


Schedules and Time Zone

What time zone is the conference on?

  • All sessions and events are presented live in United States Pacific Time.
  • Virtual: Navigate to Sessions and Schedule to change the time zone to your location.
  • In-person: The ASPEN23 is automatically set to United States Pacific Time.

Can I create my own schedule for the conference?

  • Virtual: Navigate to My Itinerary to see all the sessions. If you would like to add a session to your itinerary, click the “Add to Itinerary” button.
  • In-person: Navigate to Sessions and Schedule in the ASPEN23 app and select the plus sign next to the session you'd like to add to your schedule. Then select My Schedule to see what you've added.


Abstract Presentations

Where do I find posters?

  • Virtual: Please review the abstracts for ASPEN23 at the online JPEN website. Virtual posters are not available for ASPEN23.
  • In-person: View posters and meet with authors in the ASPEN Expo.

Where do I find oral paper sessions?

  • Virtual: Navigate to Sessions and Schedule and filter for “Paper Sessions.”
  • In-person: Navigate to Program and Sessions in the ASPEN23 app and search for "Paper Sessions."


Claiming CE Credit

  • Navigate to Evaluations and Claim CE Credit. Locate the sessions you participated in to complete the evaluation and claim credit. You must also complete the overall conference evaluation.
  • The deadline to claim CE credits for the conference is May 19, 2023.

Networking

How can I network with conference attendees and faculty as a virtual attendee?

Start a group discussion. Post questions on Connect: Discussion Board!

Chat with attendees while in a session. When you are logged into a session, there will be a “Chat” window on the left side of the session player. You can chat with all session participants or have a private chat with a participant by right-clicking on the participant’s name.

Ask faculty questions when in a session. When you are logged into a session, there is a “Questions” window on the left side of the session player. You can submit a question to the faculty here. Faculty will answer questions at the end of the session.

Share your conference experience on Twitter using #ASPEN23. If you are posting to social media, please respect the faculty and their original work by not sharing images or recordings of the session content. Instead share information about what you are learning in your own words.

Where do I find ASPEN and other nutrition-related books?

Attendees get 10% off all books at the ASPEN store! Navigate to ASPEN Books to see all available books. Then enter the discount code ASPENconf-Book when making your purchases at nutritioncare.org/store. The discount code is valid April 20-April 30, 2023.

  • Navigate to Rhoads Research Foundation to learn about the Foundation, the impact of your donations, and to meet the 2023 award and grant winners.

Membership Information

  • Virtual: Navigate to Member Services to learn more about ASPEN membership, member benefits, award winners, and more.
  • In person: Visit Member Central in the ASPEN Expo to learn more about joining ASPEN and taking advantage of all your benefits. Come to create a card for a local hospital patient, purchase ASPEN tee shirts and beagle socks, and get a free luggage tag!
