The use of blenderized tube feeding (BTF) has increased over the past several years due to a cultural shift towards consuming a more natural diet consisting of whole foods. This increase in the use of BTF has identified the need for practice recommendations that provide guidance for nutrition support professionals who utilize BTF for their patients in a variety of practice settings. This webinar series will review the recently published ASPEN paper, Blenderized Tube Feedings: Practice Recommendations from the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, in the October 2023 NCP. Three authors from the paper, Lisa Epp, April Church, and Gina Rempel, will summarize the data used to make each recommendation over a 2-part webinar series.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss the considerations for the creation of prepared BTF.
Describe the optimal method for evaluating the consistency of BTF.
Review the use of BTF in various clinical settings.
Review the use of BTF with each enteral feeding method.
