More
practitioners are incorporating malnutrition diagnosis criteria into
treatment of all patients. This diagnosis can be challenging outside of
the hospital setting and when the signs and symptoms of malnutrition
interplay with other patient factors including age and inflammation
status.
This
webinar will seek to review some of those nuanced situations by having
experts in the field describe their recommendations for approaching
malnutrition diagnostic challenges.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss malnutrition diagnosis in long-term care settings.
- Describe challenges in malnutrition diagnosis for older adults, including age-related changes in muscle mass.
- Identify the challenges of diagnosing malnutrition in patients with both acute and chronic illnesses.
