Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Etiology, Diagnosis, and Nutrition Interventions
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and its two identifying conditions, Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, will be discussed in detail, to include: etiology; diagnosis; medical, surgical, and nutritional interventions; long term prognosis; fad diets; nutritional supplements; and patient use of the internet to obtain medical and nutritional information. Participants will enhance their knowledge base through didactic learning and will also have an opportunity to apply their knowledge to actual cases.
