ICU- Acquired Weakness: How Bad is it and Can Nutrition Help?
Evaluate and discuss data for the serious morbidity and mortality due to ICU-Acquired Weakness (muscle weakness, loss of lean body mass, and nerve dysfunction) that occurs in ICU patients after they leave the hospital
Analyze available data for early interventions to mobilize and strengthen patients to improve overall outcome and specifically reduce the long term sequela of ICU-Acquired Weakness
Examine the role that nutrition, specifically protein intake, sports nutrients, pharmaconutrients, and other anabolic agents may play in preventing and improving outcome from ICU-Acquired Weakness
